Applied Materials Aug22 Functional Architect - Master Data Management & Data Governance

As a functional architect for Master Data Management & Data Governance for Applied Global Service business unit you will have responsibility for leading the implementation and improvement of our various (customer, materials, install base etc.) Master Data Management program. In addition, you will provide ongoing management and oversight for master data governance to support the business needs.

You will be responsible for:

1. Evaluate and drive data management processes (i.e., define best practices and processes to support efficiencies within install base, location, customer, products, and vendor data management)
2. Lead the process & solution design and be the liaison with the IT organization to develop create a single source of truth via the MDM solutions
3. Identify and define the right strategies to integrate Master data with other operational systems to leverage the Master data more efficiently and effectively
4. Track team’s progress, identify risks, issues and highlight to the leadership proactively
5. Communicate the technical dependencies to the concerned teams and establish coordination for seamless implementation of the individual components
6. Lead and manage the team on the MDM specific activities such as define the cleanse rules, survivorship, match rules, etc.
7. Collaborate with various technical teams and business users for development, QA and production support for master data management
8. Play a data owner, custodian role; ensure data quality standards are adhered

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implement master data management standards, enforce data governance procedures and ensure data integrity across multiple platforms for AGS in alignment with the corporate policies & processes.
2. Manage data migration requirements and processes
3. Provide thought leadership and direction to the tech leads and developers
4. Performs all other duties and special assignments as assigned
5. Design, document and maintain data processes and flows across Master Data Management (MDM) and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
6. Assist with business process mapping, data modeling, data mapping, and data visualization for install base related data initiatives
7. Develop and measure metrics-focused on Data Analytics and Data Quality
8. Collaborate with teams in other business units to ensure adherence to policies & processes to support data management.

Basic Qualifications:

1. BS/BA in Information Management, Computer/Information Science, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other related fields; or equivalent experience
2. 8+ years of Master Data experience, experience within a semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environment preferred. Master Data Experience should include an expert level of understanding of Install base Master, Material Master, Vendor Master, BOM, Production, Customer Master, Quality, etc.
3. Exposure to data governance platform (SAP MDG, Informatica, Collibra, Riversand, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

1. Prior experience with SAP, SAP MDG a plus
2. Proven Project Management Experience
3. Excellent communication skills are a must
4. Excellent presentation skills are a must
